The Fiskars 9301 Power-Lever is an excellent pole pruner that is lightweight, efficient and easy to operate. The extending mechanism works efficiently and very easily. The orange handle on the shaft slides up and down to work the shears, but when the pole saw is fully expanded and the orange handle is out of reach, there is a strong nylonish-type cable attached to handle t pull for easy operation of the shears. The blade is made from quality metal that maintains a nice sharp edge, and there is no big knobby thing or pulley set up on the end which makes it lighter to use and allows you to get into tighter spaces for finer detailing. You can choose to position the angle of the shears for cleaner, better-quality cuts. The Woodzig saw that comes with the package is the long blade used to cut/saw the branches, and it is not an attachment or separate tool. A cardboard slip cover can be made to protect the blade while not in use. However, there are some drawbacks; the pruner blades only measure about 1-1/8" apart, so it should do up to 1" as stated in the specs. Therefore, if you need to cut more extensive branches, it might be difficult to cut that thick with this pole pruner. It's important to keep the blades clean and sap-free. Also, you need to be gentle while using it as the clip that holds the strap to its blade can snap. You can re-string it by responding to the Fiskar company, and you can get all the parts for repairing any of their products.
