Answer: Yes, the reel comes pre-spooled with quality carp fishing monofilament in a dark low viz color. -

Answer: Yes, it is suitable for deadbait fishing for pike and zander, as well as for species like barbel and chub on the river. -

What is the gear ratio of the reel?
Answer: The reel is available in 5500/6500 sizes with a 5.1:1 gear ratio. -

What is the Ib line that comes with this reel?
Answer: My reels were supplied with 10lb breaking strain line (0.30mm thickness). -

Which reel is this for, there are 2 different pictures?
Answer: Same model reel but 2 different sizes. On one of the pictures the handle is masking the bait runner lever. -

Are spare spools available?
Answer: Yes there are spare reels for the avocet reel but they sometimes come with a spare reel but the spare is not loaded. -

How does the handle fold on mitchell avocet black edition carp and catfish reel?
Answer: Unscrew the pin on the other side, the more you unscrew it the further the handle will fold down towards the bail arm but beware the pin stays loose. Don't forget to tighten it up again when you go fishing next. Good luck with your fishing. -

Has anyone used these for catfishing going to a venue in October with cats to 150lb?
Answer: Used for carp fishing. After two months both of them broke down and I binned them. Waste of money. -

What’s the maximum line capacity and diameter for this reel?
Answer: 235 metres of 0.3 mm line (Approx 10lb BS). -

What’s the chance of getting spare spools for this reel?
Answer: I have a selection of Avocet reels and all the spools fit each model so I would assume it's a one size fits all system. -

Are they bait runners?
Answer: You can use it as a bait runner it saved my rod going in the water a few times.
